- Palliative Care NSW Gala Dinner and Professional Development Day - 27-Jan-2010
Following the highly successful inaugural Palliative Care NSW Awards Dinner and Professional Education Day held in May 2009, we will be again hosting the event during National Palliative Care Week in 2010.
Friday 28 May will the Professional Development Day – and the dinner will be held that evening.
The Palliative Care Awards have been organised by Palliative Care NSW to recognise the efforts of those who support and care for people who are dying in NSW through public recognition of organisations and individuals who provide excellent support and care to those people.
The Professional Education Day has been designed to focus on more complex issues that challenge specialist palliative care clinicians from a multi disciplinary perspective. This forum may also be of interest to those working in or interested in palliative care from within a variety of clinical settings.
We have listened to the feedback from last years event and we have fine tuned the awards procedures slightly for 2010. The Award Nomination Form can either be downloaded as a pdf, or you can complete the online form. Please read the Award Criteria and Process document prior to completing a nomination.

- Palliative Care NSW 2010 State Conference - 3-Jan-2010
The Organising Committee for the 2010 Conference is pleased to announce that after undertaking a thorough tender process, the venue for the 2010 Conference will be Cypress Lakes Resort in the Hunter Valley from Wednesday 3 to Friday 5 November.
Please mark your diaries! A Call for Papers will be announced in February.
- Palliative Care in Parliament - 23-Nov-2009
On Wednesday 9 September the Hon. Marie Ficarra and the Hon Greg Donnelly hosted a breakfast to launch New South Wales Parliamentary Friends of Palliative Care. This initiative, founded with the support of Palliative Care New South Wales, seeks to increase the understanding of members of Parliament about the practice of palliative care and its related issues. We intend to hold another one of these breakfasts during National Palliative Care Week in 2010 and we thank those interested members of parliament for there support. - Palliative Care NSW Annual General Meeting - 23-Nov-2009
The PCNSW AGM was held on 4 November at Calvary Hospital. Thank you to Calvary for your ongoing support! The major item of business this year was the election of President Elect. The President Elect takes office as President from November 2010. We were unable to fill the position at this time and we are seeking nominations from members over the next few months.
